After twenty years working in the airline business it seemed like the right time to pursue my passion for music - what a long strange trip it’s been. I began by writing radio ads, got into jingles and before I knew it, I once again had a proper job as the MD of an advertising and promotions agency - it wasn’t fun. Back on my own I started working more in radio and somehow this led to music production, tours with the Beach Boys, a concert with Paul McCartney at St James’s Palace and various other shows for other artists - there was also a spell in Istanbul setting up Turkey’s first commercial radio station. A chance conversation with Bill Wyman led to us collaborating on his Blues Odyssey TV series which in turn led to writing the book that accompanied it; since when I’ve made a living from writing books.

A tour of India with the Beach Boys led to us moving to live in the Lammermuir Hills in the Scottish Borders. To me it’s paradise and the perfect place to write - even if it takes a little longer to get to London than I would sometimes like.
